Material Used: Fortec unidirectional 900 gsm carbon plate with peel-ply surface. Fortec 4020 Resin.


Project Scope:
The Bell Tower's upper platform, made of 4" clay-brick units, was under-designed for code wind loads.



Solution:
Fortec Carbon Plates was chosen in conjunction with steel anchoring for wood structure.

Observations:
Carbon plates tied masonry bell tower together and increased wind shear capacity beyond code requirements. Steel would have been difficult to handle in the very tight quarters.
